Chinese Peanut Noodles (Ban Mian)

Ingredients you need:

750-900g vegetables (E.g. 2 cucumber (500g), julienned, shiitake mushroom, sliced (125g or 25g dried), 1 carrot (125g), julienned)

2 spring onion (30g), sliced

3 garlic clove (9g), finely chopped

3 tsp ginger (6g), finely chopped

3 cups cooked noodles (500g)

1 tbs sesame oil (20mL)

2 tbs extra virgin olive oil (40mL)

1 tbs vinegar (15mL)

5 tbs water (80mL)

1 tbs Heartful Flavours 'Soi' Sauce Seasoning (8g)

0.5 tbs Heartful Flavours 'Oister' Sauce Seasoning (4g)

 

Optional:

2 tsp chilli flakes (4g)

 

Choose your protein:

4 tbs no added salt or sugar peanut butter (60g)

2 tbs peanuts (30g), finely chopped 

1 tbs sesame seeds (12g) and

350g tofu, firm or extra firm, liquid pressed out and crumbled

Alternatives: 4 tbs peanut butter (60g) OR 100g textured vegetable protein OR 250g seafood OR 240g lean chicken mince OR 200g lean beef mince OR 200g lean pork mince (limit red meat to once a week)



Create This in Easy Steps:

1. Mix Heartful Flavours 'Soi' Sauce Seasoning and Heartful Flavours 'Oister' Sauce Seasoning with boiled water. In a pan, add peanut butter, spring onion, garlic, ginger, optional chilli, sesame seed, vinegar and Heartful Flavours 'Soi' and 'Oister' Sauce. Then add heated extra virgin olive oil and sesame oil, and stir together. 

2. Toss in cooked noodles, crumbled tofu, cucumber, shiitake mushroom and carrot, and mix together until evenly coated.

3. Garnish with peanuts, top with more sesame seeds, spring onion and optional chilli. Serve and enjoy.
